Meet Sarah — A Living Portrait of 18th-Century American Life
Sarah is a lovingly handcrafted doll inspired by the everyday dress of women and girls in 1700s Colonial America, where clothing was designed with both beauty and practicality in mind.
Her Historically Inspired Wardrobe Sarah is dressed in a chocolate colored 100% cotton jump, layered over a striped floral on dusty rose printed petticoat — a nod to the printed fabrics that were treasured in colonial households. She wears a 100% linen mop cap and short gown with a finch and is finished with a 100% wool ginger colored bed gown — just as colonial women would have reached for on a crisp early morning. Her shoes are crafted from faux leather and finished with a classic gold buckle.
Each garment reflects the historical functionality of women's dress in the 1700s, where layers served a purpose as much as they made a statement.
Handcrafted with Care Sarah herself is 22 inches long and made from 100% cotton, with 100% wool hair and a face that is entirely hand embroidered — making every single doll one of a kind. No two faces are exactly alike, because no two were made by the same stroke of the needle.
